IMAGINE PEACE TOWER stands on a platform 17m in diameter.
Around the cylindrical Wishing Well, which is the frame for the column of light,
there is a platform faced with three types of native Icelandic stone - hyalite,
dolerite and basalt- in a striped mosaic pattern. At the centre of the platform the
light emerges from a cylindrical Wishing Well, 4m in diameter and 2m high.
The construction and installation of the IMAGINE PEACE TOWER has been a
collaboration between Yoko Ono, the City of Reykjavik, the Reykjavik Art Museum
and Reykjavik Energy.

It will be the light that crosses the sky and divulgue the message of love and peace across the universe.
The tower reflects the dreams and wishes of millions of people; I take hope knowing that it took 200 years for abolition to occur. All efforts towards peace count and are connected. What we each think, do, and say counts.
Now more than ever we need to push the power of PEACE. There is way too much hate in this world. Shine your light!!
